It looks like we're zooming right up to the end of the year! I was shocked when the weather cooled down so suddenly. I was hoping for summer weather through December! I guess that won't happen.
Our recent open house went very smoothly. Everyone seemed to enjoy it and we almost sold out of the 40 kits. I think there are two left. Thank you for helping to make it a success.
We have our last two events of the year in October. I hope you will be able to join us.
October 4 is National Cardmaking Day. We will be doing something a little different with it this year. We are making a random kit of paper pieces (G45) from which you will be able to make one card for each of the months of the year. I will give you enough cardstock to make the 12 cards as well as a variety of mats, some ribbon, and buttons. We will put out some of the samples we've made so you can get a general idea of how to use these pieces. Everyone will have different pieces in her kit so you won't make any cards exactly. This would make a great gift for someone. The cost is $24. You can stay from 10-4. I will not be ordering food, but you can feel free to bring your lunch or snacks and drinks. There are ONLY 15 kits available. You must prepay nlt October 1. You can stay and make your cards here or take the kits and make them on your own.
You will need the following items to make your cards as none will be provided: adhesives, cutter, scissors, scoreboard/bone folder, foam dots/tape, ruler, pencil, any other items you use when you are crafting.
NOTE: Please be sure all of your tools are labeled with your name since we all use the same products and they occasionally get picked up by someone thinking it is theirs.
Our last open house of the year will be Ornament Day, October 25 from 10-4 . We have some very cute projects for you to make. Several can be used either as an ornament or on a card. We have tried to make a good variety of items to meet your holiday needs. Remember if you can't make it, you can prepay by 10/22/14 and get the kits. More details will be forthcoming as we get closer to the date.
By request, Lenora has rescheduled the following classes: Cloisonne, Bleach Technique, and Glass Etching. We have scheduled two of them on a Saturday so those who work could join us.
Jessica is continuing with the Monthly Graphic 45 books. This month's theme is "Raining Cats and Dogs". Please let us know if you plan to participate by phone, email, or stopping by since we do our prep one time. You will also need to be sure to prepay before we cut the materials.
My classes this month will be Christmas Tree and Snowmen Cards to get a jump on the holiday cards you will need. I am planning to teach the Monster Mash Book as the last Halloween project for this year.
I have scheduled two crop nights this month since we didn't have one in September. Come join us if you like socializing and crafting with others.
I look forward to seeing you soon. We have a bunch of dies and stamps to help you with your upcoming projects. So stop by and check it out.
