Are you all as anxious for the arrival of spring as I am? I can't wait! I was very thankful for the snow days since they allowed me to have a couple of days in a row off. But now I'm ready for some consistently warm weather and flowers blooming.
We are currently working on some great cards for our Spring Open House on Saturday, March 15, from 10-4. Our theme is butterflies and flowers. I think you will really enjoy the cards we are featuring. There will be eight stations and the cost is $16 (CASH IS PREFERRED. You should pay upon entry). Don't forget to bring your basic tool kit or at least some sharp scissors and adhesives (wet-glue and dry-tape or runner).
Remember, there is parking in the back of the building and you can also park next door at Mommy's Helper. I hope you will be able to join us for the fun activities.
If you are unable to make the open house, you can prepay and we will save kits from each station for you.
We have been receiving a lot of great new products recently.
One of the hottest products at the CHA was the pop-up dies by Elizabeth Crafts. These have been flying out the door. They make a terrific looking card that is very easy to use. Just run it through your machine and it's an instant pop-up. I have a few left in stock but have already reordered for the open house.
We just got all the complete new paper lines from Graphic 45. As usual, they have outdone themselves. The colors are gorgeous and the themes are wonderful! I love the Botanical Tea with its soft colors. It will be great for Mother's Day and spring projects. By the Sea is much nicer than I expected. This is a great beach paper as well as a good base for masculine cards. The third line is a vintage sport collection. I wasn't going to order it but I am really glad I did. I think it could be used for vintage sports pages in addition to current sports. We will be featuring all of these in projects over the next few months.
The new Graphic 45 classes for this year are mini albums. So far the two books we have taught have turned out very nicely. The first one used the Typography papers and the February book used the Sweet Sentiments papers. I don't normally like books but I really like these. They would make wonderful gifts for any occasion because they are easy to make. Our March book will feature the Bohemian line. Be sure to sign up and prepay by the deadline because we are no longer make extra kits. If you can't make the class, you can get a kit.
Another new line of paper we just received is the Bo Bunny Primrose. I have already reordered today since I have sold out of some of the embellishments. Very springy with soft colors. We trying to design a project for a class using it.
Be sure to come by and check out the new dies we've been receiving. I have been able to get dies from a variety of companies through my distributor. It amazes me how all of a sudden everyone is manufacturing dies. Some are very similar while others are unique. They come in all prices. I'm not sure what makes the price difference other than the size. They all cut extremely well.
I have been wanting to start up the Stamp of the Month Program from Great Impressions again for several months. I was finally able to order their March Board. This should be arriving in the next week or so. The program is like this: if you buy two stamps from the board, you may purchase the designated stamp of the month for half price. In addition I provide you with a project sheet and a colored photo of the board. This especially is great for beginning stampers but they look great for more advanced stampers, too.
In the future months, when I order the boards, I will take prepaid orders so you can get exactly what stamps you want. The stamps will be available in cling or wood. I order the wood unless you specifically ask for the cling. I can also order the paper that is used on each month's cards. Let me know if there is any interest in this. If you have no clue what I am talking about, stop by the store and check out the multiple boards on display around the store. If you would like to take a class each month to make the five cards on the board, let me know so we can work on scheduling a class.
Lenora has made some lovely vintage cards using the Heartfelt Creations stamps. Since we were late getting the samples made for this class last month, we have rescheduled the class in March.
Jessica will be teaching this month's Monthly Christmas Card. The technique will be paper piecing.
She will also be making three cards using the Graphic 45 line, Le Couture. I think you will enjoy the vintage girly look.
My March classes will be Iris Folding, Easter Cards, Egg Medallion Cards and Dry Embossing Techniques.
In the next few days, I will be sending you an email about the Craft Yard Sale we plan to have in April. Be sure to read the information carefully so you can meet the deadline to register. So start going through your overstuffed craft room and sorting out the things you don't use and want to sell. If you have nothing you want to part with, be sure you come by to see what good deals you might get.
That's about all for now. I hope to see you soon. Take care.
